Celebrating Sisterhood & Small Business: A Recap of Our Kicks Over Brunch Small Business Mixer

Last month, we brought the community together for something truly special — our Kicks Over Brunch Small Business Mixer. This intimate gathering was more than just a brunch — it was a celebration of connection, creativity, and community among local entrepreneurs and business owners who are making real moves in their industries.

Held in partnership with STK Steakhouse, guests were welcomed with brunch bites and mimosas that set the tone for a joyful afternoon of networking, inspiration, and intentional support. The energy in the room was undeniable — women sharing stories, exchanging resources, and building relationships that will last beyond the event.

One of the highlights of the day was hearing from Yelp, who shared valuable insights into how they uplift and support small businesses across the Charlotte area and beyond. From local partnerships to marketing tools, their presence was a reminder of how powerful platforms can be when they lean into community.

Of course, no Kicks & Fros event is complete without a little (or a lot of) flair. Our signature Kick Charm Bar gave attendees a chance to personalize their favorite sneakers with unique charms — because self-expression is always in style. The room also bloomed with joy thanks to the custom flower bar by Pick Your Feels Florals, where each guest received their flowers (literally and metaphorically) — a moment of beauty and affirmation.

To top it all off, every guest walked away with a swag bag packed with love and generosity from our brand partners:
🌟 Adidas
🎧 Beats by Dre
📓 Passion Papers
🎨 Pardon My Fro

Each brand gifted something special to help remind attendees that they are seen, valued, and supported on their business journeys.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and can’t wait to do it again. Until next time, keep dreaming, keep building, and keep showing up.
