Teyana Taylor x Jordan Brand Collab: A Rose From Harlem

Teyana Taylor x Jordan Brand Collab: A Rose From Harlem

Teyana Taylor is a woman who wears many hats and does it in STYLE, okay?!?! She's done everything from "My Super Sweet 16" to being signed to Skateboard P to choreographing Beyonce's "Ring the Alarm" music video to being creative director for "Pretty Little Thing" to having her own production company called "The Aunties 360" - the list goes on while she's also acting, singing, producing, and holding it down as a wife and mom.

Her newest hat is detailed with the Jordan logo on and these sneakers are giving SHOWSTOPPER! The Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2, “A Rose From Harlem”, sneaker sold out in minutes! This collab is an all-encompassing sneaker release that reflects her background, her story, and her current tenet, “like roses out of concrete, there’s nowhere you can’t flourish”.

This sneaker also pays homage to her 2018 record, “Rose in Harlem”, which recently appeared in the soundtrack of her critically acclaimed film, A Thousand and One, which she starred in.

The “A Rose From Harlem” 1’s tell a beautiful story and Teyana did not skip any details. There is so much intentionality in the embroidered red swoosh spiked with green thorns along the right shoe and  the left shoe has an oversized black leather swoosh with a zigzag stitching. The left shoe features “TEY” in metallic gold lettering and the right shoe tongue tag features a thorny swoosh graphic.

On IG, Teyana shared that she wanted her first @jumpman23 creation to represent her journey as "a rose navigating thru concrete but also an ode to all of the ROSES just like me & the ones who have inspired me thru my journey.” She gifted stars such as Missy Elliott, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and Erykah Badu with pairs of the sneakers last month.

Now, let’s get into Teyana’s campaign shoot for this collab! Let me just say that it was STUNNING! Teyana stood alongside her grandmother, mother, and oldest daughter, Junie (her youngest daughter Rue happened to be asleep at the time). They were all wearing the “A Rose From Harlem” 1’s with regal and majestic attire. It was ground-breaking and so inspiring to see 4 generations of black women in the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 that Teyana designed. It’s giving black beauty, black excellence, and black royalty!

The sneaker was released on June 1st, yet it still has us in a frenzy! As an OG Sneakerhead, we had high expectations for Teyana's sneaker and she exceeded them all! Here are some #Fitchecks from some familiar faces!

Teyana has an apparel collection that is out now also! Make sure you guys go cop before everything sells out!

This is a legendary collab not only for Jordan Brand but for Black women everywhere. We feel seen, we feel heard, and we love that for us! Thank you Teyana!

“Roses do not bloom hurried; for beauty, like any masterpiece, takes time to blossom 🌹”
